Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has reportedly been left stung by his wife, Cheryl Hines, after purchasing a $4.4 million Georgetown home for them in an apparent bid to “mend their marital bridges”—only for insiders to now claim that the actress has “no plans” to relocate to the East Coast to be with her politician husband.

It was first reported in April that Kennedy had purchased a stunning four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom Georgetown townhouse—months after he became embroiled in a sexting scandal with 31-year-old journalist Olivia Nuzzi.

Kennedy has vehemently denied any kind of romantic relationship with Nuzzi. However, the controversy is still said to have left Hines, 59, fearful over the future of their marriage. Insiders previously claimed that she demanded her husband move her to DC because she did not “trust” him to live alone in the wake of the scandal.

However, according to Kennedy family expert Jerry Oppenheimer, sources close to Kennedy, 71, have said that he feels he has been “taken for a ride” by his spouse—who insiders claim has “no plans” to permanently move to DC or become a “full-time political wife.”

“Bobby felt the house in Georgetown would mend their marital bridges,” one insider said, according to Page Six. Kennedy believed the home would help to “keep their marriage alive,” while also helping him to fulfill his dream of being part of “Washington’s latest power couple.”

Yet Hines is now said to have U-turned on her plans to relocate to DC, with one source claiming that she has described the area as a “deadbeat town” to one friend, while also voicing doubt that her husband’s role in Trump’s administration is the best thing for his career.

“[She is] still not convinced Bobby should be working in the right-wing Republican Trump administration,” the insider said.

Hines’ reluctance to relocate to DC is understood to have surprised Kennedy, particularly given the reports that surfaced in March claiming that the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star had demanded that her husband move her to the political capital out of fear he could not be trusted to live alone.

“Cheryl doesn’t feel Bobby can be trusted one iota living on his own in DC, even part time, with so many attractive women and Kennedy groupies around, as he gets settled in his powerful new position. So she’s given him a strict ultimatum—move me or else,” an anonymous source told Oppenheimer at the time.

The home that Kennedy is understood to have purchased is located in one of Georgetown’s most upscale areas and boasts many amenities, including a luxurious primary bathroom, a wine cellar, and a picturesque private terrace.

Records indicate that the dwelling, which was listed for $4.85 million, was snapped up on April 7 via a trust, having last changed hands in 2013 for $2.7 million.

The listing described the home as the “epitome of Georgetown elegance,” featuring multiple fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen, and a beautiful rear terrace where residents and guests can enjoy the lush tree-filled yard in complete privacy.

There are additional bedrooms on the third floor and the lower floor, as well as a walk-through wine cellar.

The property is also located in one of the most high-profile neighborhoods in the DC area, having been home to politicians and celebrities over the years, from Bill Clinton to multiple members of the Kennedy family.

According to CBS, Kennedy, who is currently serving as President Donald Trump‘s Health and Human Services secretary, was seen “doing a walk-through at the home” just a few days before the deal closed, with the outlet noting that he was accompanied by his security detail.

At the time, his wife was understood to still be living at the couple’s home in Brentwood, which they purchased for $6.6 million in 2021.

That property offers much more space than the Georgetown dwelling, as well as a number of impressive outdoor amenities, including a resort-style pool, Tiki bar, and waterfall and spa.

Additionally, the couple also hold the keys to a $2.5 million Hyannis Port property, which they purchased in 2022.

That home is located near the Kennedy family’s iconic compound, where many of John F. Kennedy‘s descendants spend the Fourth of July.

While Hines’ daughter, Catherine Rose Young, whom she shares with her former husband, Paul Young, was pictured enjoying the holiday celebrations alongside the rest of the Kennedy clan, her stepfather was nowhere to be seen in the social media images and videos that emerged from the weekend.

Instead, Catherine was seen posing alongside several of her extended family members at the iconic property, including appearing in the Kennedy clan’s traditional annual photo.
