This Fairfield County suburb combines suburban amenities, strong commuter access, and a price advantage compared with surrounding areas, creating strong appeal for today’s home shoppers.
Between January and June 2025, Trumbull homes sold in a median of just 25 days, with listings attracting 5.1 times more views per property than the national average. The median listing price during that period was $666,000, a 26% discount from the surrounding Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury metro’s $893,000 median, which likely is a huge reason for the high buyer demand.
A competitive edge in Connecticut’s housing market
Trumbull is part of a strong Connecticut presence on this year’s list. South Windsor homes for sale ranked No. 9 with a median price of $406,000, and Wallingford homes for sale placed 18th at $394,000.
These towns show that Connecticut’s appeal remains strong, especially in areas where prices are more affordable than surrounding metro averages.
In Trumbull, 66.9% of listing views came from outside the metro, with the largest share—21.4%—originating from New York City buyers. Many of these shoppers are looking for more space and quieter neighborhoods while maintaining reasonable commutes to job centers.
