From Golf Greens to Saltwater Pools: A $3.99M Castle in An Exclusive Colorado Country Club Awaits Its Next Owners

Perched above the sixth fairway of the prestigious Jack Nicklaus–designed Country Club at Castle Pines, a luxurious castle is awaiting a new owner to take the throne.

The expansive estate, which sprawls across 8,800 square feet of living space, has been put on the market for just a hair under $4 million, seeking a deep-pocketed owner with a love of luxury—and golf.

Located in Castle Rock, CO, the property was designed by renowned Colorado architect Kathy Jones, who is best known for her work in some of Denver’s most exclusive residential neighborhoods. Her signature style is on full display in this castlelike abode, which was originally built in 2003.

“Architecturally, this home stands out for its striking combination of bold structural forms, natural materials, and seamless integration with its surroundings,” says listing agent Stacie Chadwick.

The 1-acre property commands attention immediately with its dramatic cylindrical tower clad in stacked stone and lined with floor-to-ceiling windows. Inside, vaulted ceilings with rich wood beams and an intricate tiered layout frame panoramic views of the golf course, lake, and mountains beyond.

“From the grand curved stone façade to the suspended glassless fireplace, every element is a statement,” says Chadwick. “You’ll see hand-laid stone columns, intricate wood-beamed and coffered ceilings, and one-of-a-kind features like the integrated saltwater aquarium in the dining room.”

The most recent owners brought their own sense of artistry to the property, undertaking extensive kitchen renovations that included upgraded finishes and appliances.

“One of the current owners is a geologist, so he incorporated stone accents throughout, like the illuminated stone backsplash behind the gas range,” Chadwick notes. “They also lowered a few walls to better expose the expansive views from the breakfast nook.”

The walk-out lower level offers nearly every kind of wellness and recreation space imaginable, from a game room with wet bar to a custom wine cellar, home theater, and fitness center. Just beyond the glass doors lies a heated saltwater pool, one of many spa-worthy features awaiting the next owners.

“Nestled in the rolling hills and mature pine forests of Douglas County, the community offers breathtaking mountain vistas, abundant wildlife, and over 13 miles of private trails,” says Chadwick.

“Pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and multiple parks create a true retreat without leaving the neighborhood.”

Set within a 24/7 staffed, gated enclave, the home offers both privacy and a strong sense of community.

Residents enjoy exclusive access to two nationally recognized Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, and the location is just minutes from Castle Rock and Lone Tree, with easy access to Denver and Colorado Springs.

“A full calendar of social events, from wine tastings to summer concerts, fosters genuine connections among neighbors,” Chadwick adds.

Of course, the association with Nicklaus—a renowned golfer who is credited with mentoring the likes of Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson—also helps to give the home added cachet.

Nicklaus has been responsible for creating some of the world’s most prestigious golf communities, including a stunning club in Jupiter, FL, where McIlroy has long resided.

Many credit Nicklaus, now 85, who starting a huge migration of golf’s greatest players to Jupiter, having relocated to Palm Beach County with his wife, Barbara, in 1966, the same year that he won both the Masters and the Open Championship.

The couple helped to boost the town’s golf capital status 30 years later in 1999, when they founded The Bear’s Club, one of the area’s premier private golf clubs.

And, according to the listing for the Castle Pines property, the community in which it is located has just as many impressive amenities on offer as Jupiter.

“From the moment you enter through the grand foyer, panoramic views of the golf course, shimmering lake, and mountains beyond draw you outside,” the description notes.

“Designed for those who seek the extraordinary, this home delivers a seamless fusion of luxury, privacy, and unparalleled beauty.”
