Actress Jennifer Garner has found herself a new form of on-screen stardom as a would-be food influencer.
The 53-year-old mother of three launched her very own “pretend cooking show” on Instagram six years ago—and has since been sharing a host of different recipe videos on the social media platform, the most recent of which have also offered fans a glimpse inside her custom-built Los Angeles mansion.
Garner, who has been dating boyfriend John Miller since 2018, moved into the property, which she shares with her three children, in 2024, having spent five years questing for the perfect home for her family—only to realize that her dream dwelling didn’t actually exist.
“I wanted it to feel old and cool and historic, but I also wanted to make it work for a big family with a lot of things going on,” she explained to Architectural Digest while showing off the property in a September 2024 shoot.
“I looked and looked for a house to move into, but I needed privacy, and any house that had privacy was more grand than I felt comfortable in,” she went on. “I was frustrated, but finally said, Okay, I think I’m going to have to build and found this lot.”

Since moving into her farmhouse-style abode, the home has become the perfect backdrop for Garner’s candid social media videos, which have seen her whipping up everything from back-to-school “bisquettes” and packed lunches to healthy treats for her dogs and cats.
It is perhaps no surprise that the “Alias” star spends such a lot of time in her kitchen, having previously admitted to AD that it was one of the spaces she invested the most time in designing, even installing a dedicated baking section where she could experiment with recipes.
“When I imagined my favorite kitchen ever, in my mind, that would have an area dedicated to baking,” she told the outlet. “It just makes it so much easier to have it all in one place and to know where your different flours are and your chocolate chips. Chocolate chips are the most important thing in the whole house—and I could tell you where they are!”
Aside from baking, Garner notes that the kitchen does get a lot of use, although she admits that her cooking skills aren’t quite up to the level of a professional chef.
“Here, alone with my kids on a weekend, I cannot tell you how often I make something and I’m just feeding them as it comes off the stove. I’m not very good at things coming out of the oven or off the stove at the same time,” she confessed.
“So it’s just like, have your vegetables, now have your this, now have your that. It’s all out of order but they don’t seem to mind.”
As with much of the home, coziness was key for the kitchen, which boasts a stunning wooden interior that makes it feel “like [you’re] inside a treehouse,” as well as a fireplace where she and her loved ones can sit and chat.

“All of my fireplace grates are done by Wallace Metal Works,” Garner said. “Usually there’s a dog sleeping under [there]. It just adds so much coziness, it’s unbelievable how nice it is to have a little bit of a fire going in your kitchen.”
Despite her humility, Garner’s cooking videos have gone down a storm with her followers, with many clamoring for the on-screen starlet to be given her very own show.
“So many celebs try to be real and down to earth but Jennifer Garner is the real deal,” one person wrote on her latest video, as another chimed in: “Netflix, this is the cooking show we wanted.”
“Love her! She really should have a “real cooking show”!!! It would be amazing and fun!!!” one wrote.
The actress has even got the seal of approval from the likes of celebrity chef Ina Garten, who commented on a video of Garner making her own ice cream: “Save some for me!!!! Love you!!!”
Fellow Hollywood starlet Rita Wilson also showed support for Garner, telling her: “In awe. Have never tried to make ice cream. I want some of yours! Delicious!”
Others have been full of praise for Garner’s sleek design aesthetic in her kitchen, which features elegant wood accents, gold finishes, and ample counter space.

The actress spent a staggering five years working on the design and build of the property, having purchased the lot on which her home now sits back in 2019 for $7.9 million.
That purchase included a 1930s-era cottage, which she proceeded to tear down in order to make way for her “dream” home.
She bought the land and began working on her new home four years after she called quits on her marriage to actor Ben Affleck, although their divorce was not finalized until 2018—the same year that it was revealed Garner had moved on with businessman Miller.
Throughout their relationship, Garner and Miller have worked hard to maintain total privacy, despite multiple rumors suggesting that they have gotten engaged, are planning to wed this summer, and that the businessman is now living in the actress’s home.
The duo has neglected to confirm or deny any of this speculation, instead shying away from the spotlight as much as possible.
Before completing work on the property she now calls home, Garner is understood to have been renting a $13.86 million mansion in the same neighborhood, which was previously owned by makeup mogul Max Factor.
In addition to her Los Angeles abode, Garner also owns her family’s 55-acre farm in Oklahoma, which she purchased in 2017.
