Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to view some former sanctuaries that are seeking a real estate resurrection—providing a unique opportunity for homebuyers to step onto the property ladder for as little as $50,000.

Whether you are in the market for an investment property or looking for a work-from-home opportunity, these inexpensive properties with lots of potential just need a little TLC to transform them into the home of your dreams.

Church renovations have surged in popularity over the last few years, with incredible images revealing how these former places of worship can be transformed into unique dwellings that marry historic charm with modern luxury.

One such property in Pennsylvania recently hit the market for $430,000 after being carefully renovated by its owners, who retained many of the unique design elements in the building—including stained-glass windows and artful molding—while giving the dwelling a fresh new aesthetic.

But there are a host of renovation-ready churches still available for any budding home flippers eager to take on a divine DIY dream.

From Kansas to Maine, here are five flippable churches that are awaiting their heavenly transformation.

1. 531 W Ash St, Piqua, OH

Price: $50,000

Online auction: This 11,400-square-foot structure that once housed the Piqua Westminster Presbyterian Church, and later the True Vine Church, is being sold by online auction only, with bids being accepted until Aug. 27, 2025.

Built in 1914, the brick building is still in its original sacred state with a stone sanctuary, vintage stained glass, and church pews still in place. A two-bedroom living area could be used while renovating the rest of the space that also includes “many activity rooms.”

Buyers should note there are “ongoing code violations” and a “land lease will be transferred to new ownership,” according to the listing.
