Oakley founder James Jannard is making yet another attempt to offload his brutalist Beverly Hills megamansion after slashing his asking price by more than $3 million.
However, the sum that Jannard is now seeking for his imposing abode, which was originally listed more than a year ago, is by no means cheap. The new $65 million price tag attached to the home has still landed it right at the top of the week’s list of most expensive homes.
The five-bedroom dwelling originally hit the market in June 2024 for $68 million, a far cry from the $19.9 million that Jannard paid in 2009.
But the businessman, who founded eyeglass brand Oakley in 1975, seems intent on reeling in a sizable profit for the property, which he stands to do if he can secure anywhere near his price of $3,543 per square foot.
The billionaire’s stunning cement residence perched on a 2-acre promontory in the posh Trousdale Estates community features concrete walls and floors, two kitchens, custom-made furniture, and majestic views of Los Angeles.
Although Jannard’s impressive home takes the top spot on the latest list of most expensive homes, his dwelling is joined by four other California mansions—with the Golden State dominating the luxury housing market this week.
Other jaw-dropping estates to make this week’s most expensive list include a European-inspired residence in Brooklyn, a fully furnished mountain mansion in Vail, CO, and an 855-acre Texas ranch.
