Inside Matty Healy’s Los Angeles Love Nest With Fiance Gabbriette as His Mom Reveals She Is ‘Glad’ She Isn’t Taylor Swift’s Mother-in-Law

Matty Healy‘s mom, Denise Welch, has shaded Taylor Swift as she admitted that she is “glad” she will never be the pop star’s mother-in-law following their furious split as she gushed about his engagement to model Gabbriette Betchel.

Welch made her real feelings about the “Bad Blood” hitmaker, 35, known while speaking with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live.”

When asked about her son’s short-lived romance with the songstress, Welch revealed she is thankful she “lost” the role of Swift’s mother-in-law.

She targeted the singer’s most recent album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was rumored to contain several nods to Swift’s affair with Healy.

“Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost,” Welch confessed.

Welch, 67, assured fans that her response had nothing to do with Swift’s personality.

“Not that I have anything against her at all. It was just—it was tricky.

“She—listen, you’re not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it,” Welch said.

She then shifted the conversation to her son’s new romance, with Betchel, 27, whom he began dating in September 2023.

“He is very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella, who is gorgeous. So, we’ve moved on,” Welch said.

Swift and Healy had a whirlwind romance between May and June 2023, following her breakup from actor Joe Alwyn.

During their brief affair, the couple were spotted attending private dinners, and Healy even showed his support for Swift at her sold-out Eras Tour concerts.

Their romance was short-lived, and their split came soon after they began dating, with an insider telling Entertainment Tonight that they had called it quits because of incompatibility and scheduling issues.

When Swift released the “Tortured Poets Album” in April 2024, it was reported that many of the hits, including, “Guilty As Sin,” “Down Bad,” “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” were about Healy.

Swift moved on with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in August 2023. Healy entered a whirlwind romance with Betchel the following month, and the pair got engaged in June 2024.

The couple has since been reveling in their newly engaged bliss inside their Los Angeles abode, which Betchel revealed they have transformed into a home.

While speaking to Vogue, the model opened the doors to their Hollywood Hills abode, telling the outlet that she loves perfecting her cooking skills at the dwelling’s large kitchen island.

She also gushed about her large closet, which boasts her collection of growing vintage clothes.

“Not many people know this, but I’m really into interior design,” she told the outlet, revealing that she was taking control of the decorations for their California pad.

Although they are some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Betchel and Healy love to spend their time lounging on their cozy couch and playing video games.
