Rapper Eminem‘s daughter Hailie Jade may well boast an impressive lineage in the music industry, but she’s chosen to carve her own path in a very different field: home design.
The 29-year-old wife of Evan McClintock and mother to son Elliot, who was born in late March, recently embarked on a mammoth property overhaul, a top-to-bottom renovation of her best friend and podcast co-host Brittany‘s newly purchased Detroit dwelling.
Not content with conquering the renovation game, Hailie Jade, who was pregnant throughout the process, also documented the entire progression in a new HGTV-style reality series on YouTube, “Just a Little Reno.”
But what the cameras didn’t capture was Hailie Jade’s enduring connection with the property, which she has now opened up about in intimate detail for the latest installment of Celebrity Sanctuary, revealing how she set about turning the dilapidated dwelling into a cozy home for her closest pal.
Hailie Jade, whose mother is Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Scott, lays bare her “race against the clock” to finish the dwelling before she gave birth. She also shares the most “rewarding” parts of transforming a space into something special.

Brittany and Brian [her husband] chose this 1990s home for its great bones and potential. When she first showed it to me, I could instantly see the vision. We knew we could take its outdated features and turn them into something really special.
I was so thankful that Brittany fully trusted my design vision for her first home. I was involved in every step of the process—from choosing flooring, paint colors, and furniture, to planning the layout and deciding which walls to take down.
I handled all the design decisions from start to finish, and I absolutely loved every minute of it.
My favorite area in both my home and Brittany’s is the living room. In both cases, it’s the biggest room in the house, but somehow also the coziest. Each one has a unique ceiling that makes the space feel extra special.
Mine is two stories with tons of windows that let in so much natural light, and Brittany’s has a beautiful cathedral ceiling that adds so much character.
Since the living room is where we both spend the most time, we made sure it felt comfortable, inviting, and perfect for both relaxing and hosting.
Personally, when I designed my home about five years ago, I knew I wanted it to be a space where I could both entertain and unwind. That’s why I love our open-concept kitchen and living area.

It works perfectly for hosting but also feels cozy enough to relax in. I think functionality is such an important part of interior design, and that’s something I focused on not just in my own home, but also in “Just a Little Reno” when designing Brittany’s.
When I first moved out for college, I loved making a space of my own. But buying my first home five years ago really sparked my passion for renovation.
The house needed work, and I wanted to turn outdated spaces into something fresh and beautiful. That experience inspired me to help friends with their own projects and dive deeper into the design world.
I completely overhauled my first home, from the kitchen and bathrooms to every space in between. Honestly, there wasn’t a single area I didn’t touch.
We even added a little extra space, and I designed that as well. I loved every part of the process, but my favorite moment is always seeing the transformation at the end of the project. It’s incredibly rewarding.
I’ve grown up around the same area of Michigan my whole life, with so many friends and family. Detroit also holds a special place in my heart as it’s a city full of creativity, resilience, and community. I feel lucky to be rooted so close to it.
