A sprawling Connecticut estate that was once rented by pop sensation Mariah Carey has been put on the market for $12.4 million—with none other than celebrity real estate agent Ryan Serhant playing a key role in its listing.
The sprawling New Canaan abode where Carey, 56, lived for nearly two years, initially hit the market on March 28 for $13.9 million, but after struggling to sell, that price was dropped by more than $1 million on June 1.
Since then, Serhant, 40, has helped spark a surge of interest in the dwelling by showcasing it on his YouTube channel, where he took viewers on a full tour of the luxurious abode.
The “Owning Manhattan” star made no secret of the property’s celebrity past, titling his video: “An Exclusive Tour of Mariah Carey’s MASSIVE Estate.”
Carey rented the gorgeous dwelling, which is nicknamed Orchard’s End, for an eye-watering $75,000 a month for nearly two years—and is said to have written multiple songs while living there, including her upcoming 16th album and her verse in the remix of Muni Long‘s single, “Made for Me.”

Serhant listing agents Danielle Malloy and Jessica Lane told Mansion Global that the star had moved out of the home in the beginning of 2025.
The 12-bedroom, 12.5-bathroom dwelling boasts 18,000 square feet and is situated on a 6.26-acre lot.
Built in 1929, the home boasts “gorgeous woodwork, custom plaster ceiling moldings,” according to Serhant and Malloy.
The home is so impressive that a local architect even told the two real estate pros that it would cost “$40 million” to rebuild today.
“You couldn’t replace this,” Serhant said.
According to the listing, the home boasts an impressive architectural history, having been designed by William B. Tubby, who was renowned for building some extraordinary private estates for wealthy families in and around New York.
“Orchard’s End, built in 1929 designed by New York architect William B. Tubby, his outstanding designs include Waveny House in New Canaan, Dunnellen Hall in Greenwich & William H. Childs House in Brooklyn,” the description reveals.

The listing goes on to note that the property underwent a significant $6 million, three-year overhaul in 2014, for which the current owners hired “world-renowned architect” Dinyar Wadia, who expanded the main residence as well as a guesthouse that sits on the property.
“The main residence [was] improved and expanded [with] a four-bedroom guest house, along with a custom designed 5,000-square-foot wellness center, a custom pool with spa and new terraces [that] transformed Orchard’s End into a true masterpiece.
“In a recent interview with Dinyar, he stated he believes in today’s market the main house alone would cost in excess of 25 million dollars to replicate,” the listing adds.
The home’s exterior is rightfully compared to a castle and is surrounded by lush greenery, while also boasting a tennis court and a resort-style pool.
Upon entering the homes, guests are greeted with an elegant dining area complete with a chic chandelier, molded ceilings, an elegant fireplace, and several windows that allow for natural light to flood in.
There is also a grand piano by the window, which is sure to be the spot Carey belted out some tunes.
Another dining area boasts wood-beamed ceilings and a large table, while a third spot comes complete with cozy couches, custom shelves, and a fireplace.
