Brad Pitt's $5.5 Million Los Angeles Home Is 'Ransacked' by Thieves While Actor Was Busy Promoting Formula 1 Movie Abroad

Brad Pitt‘s $5.5 million midcentury modern Los Angeles abode has been “ransacked” by a trio of thieves, who smashed a window to gain access to the dwelling while the actor was traveling abroad to promote his newly released Formula 1 movie.

According to police, the thieves “made a real mess” of the property, which Pitt, 61, purchased in 2023 for $5.5 million, making off with several stolen items—although authorities have yet to reveal what was taken or how much the goods were worth.

Pitt, who owns several properties across the globe, is understood to have been away from the dwelling when the incident occurred on the evening of June 25, having appeared at the London premiere of his new movie, “F1,” on June 23.

Police stated that the burglars accessed the property at around 10:30 PM, after scaling a fence and then breaking a window, but have not revealed whether Pitt’s girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, or any other persons were present when the robbery took place.

Authorities said that they responded to a triggered alarm at the property and discovered evidence of the break-in when they arrived at Pitt’s address—although the actor has not been publicly identified by police as the owner of the dwelling.

Realtor.com® has confirmed that Pitt owns the property in question, however.

Sources who were “not authorized to discuss the case” told the Los Angeles Times that the thieves appeared to have “gone through [the home] looking for what they could take of value,” adding that they made “a real mess” of Pitt’s property in the process.

Images taken outside of the dwelling—which is known as the “Steel House”—on June 26 showed investigators combing the abode for evidence, however no other updates have yet been released about whether authorities have any suspects in the case.

The home is one of several in the actor’s property portfolio; however, it is understood to have served as his home base in Los Angeles, with his other homes located in Carmel and the South of France.

He is understood to have purchased the abode after selling off an extravagant Los Angeles estate that he once shared with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, and their children for $33 million.

Pitt has not yet made a public statement about the burglary and it is not known whether he has since returned to Los Angeles following the extensive promo tour for his film, much of which was shot in the U.K., in and around the iconic race track at Silverstone.

However, the break-in marks the latest in a line of celebrity robberies, with multiple A-listers targeted in recent months, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, whose $8.4 million Beverly Hills mansion was burglarized on Valentine’s Day of this year.

TMZ stated that Kidman and Urban, both 57, were not at their seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom property when it was targeted, adding that “one of their employees” arrived back at the home while the intruder was there and “scared them off.”

Days earlier, the home of LAFC soccer star Oliver Giroud was also broken into by thieves who stole an estimated $500,000 worth of jewelry, according to ESPN.

Authorities responded to a 911 call on Feb. 5 made by Giroud’s wife, Jennifer, who stated that she had discovered an upstairs window at the home had been broken and that multiple items of value had been stolen.

Then, in May, a man was arrested after driving through the gates of a Bel-Air home owned by Pitt’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, who is understood to have been present in the property when the incident took place.

Per TMZ, the “Friends” actress was home at the time of the shocking incident, and the man has been identified only as a white male in his 70s.

The Los Angeles Police Department revealed that a security guard on-site held down the elderly man until they arrived.

Multiple high-profile sports stars have also been the victims of break-ins in recent years, including Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and his teammate, Travis Kelce.

On Feb. 18, an unsealed indictment revealed that seven men have been charged in connection with this string of robberies, including three men—Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Orellano Morales, 23, and Sergio Ortega Cabello, 38—who were previously arrested in relation to the break-in at Burrow’s Ohio home.

The four other men have been identified as Pablo Zuniga Cartes, 24; Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, 20; Alexander Huiaguil Chavez, 24; and Bastian Jimenez Freraut, 27. The case has been filed in Tampa, FL.

Cabello, Chavez, Morales, and Sanchez have already pleaded not guilty to charges they faced in Ohio, which included participating in a criminal gang, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, obstructing official business, and possession of criminal tools, according to NBC News.
