Palmyra, PA homes for sale have secured a spot on the Realtor.com® 2025 Hottest ZIP Codes list, highlighting the town’s appeal to buyers in search of affordability and community charm.

Each year, the list identifies ZIPs where homes are selling faster than the national norm and generating above-average buyer interest.

In 2025, Palmyra’s performance underscores how smaller towns with strong ties to regional hubs are keeping pace with the nation’s most competitive housing markets.

Homes in Palmyra are moving quickly

Palmyra (ZIP 17078) ranked No. 27 nationally, with homes selling in a median of just 27 days between January and June 2025. That’s nearly a month faster than the U.S. median of 53 days. At the same time, the typical listing price in Palmyra was $371,000, offering buyers a balance between affordability and value. Pennsylvania is well represented in the rankings. Together, these Mid-Atlantic ZIPs point to steady housing market demand across the region, as home shoppers search for suburban-style living without the steep premiums of larger metros.

Realtor.com housing data shows that the Northeast and Midwest continue to dominate the hottest ZIPs lists. These areas have consistently outperformed the South and West, where climbing inventory and cooling buyer demand have slowed once-frenzied markets.

In the Northeast, affordability relative to expensive metro cores is a major draw. Beverly, MA, for instance, was ranked the nation’s No. 1 ZIP with a $746,000 median listing price—still nearly 16% below Boston’s metro average. By comparison, Palmyra’s $371,000 median makes it a more accessible option for households who want proximity to Harrisburg, PA homes, Hershey, and regional job corridors while keeping monthly payments manageable.

Suburban living with urban access

Chief Economist Danielle Hale explains that the 2025 hottest ZIPs share a common theme: suburban living with ties to metro opportunities. Buyers are drawn to neighborhoods that provide more space and lifestyle flexibility while maintaining commuting access to jobs.

Inventory shortages remain a big part of the story. Nationally, listings in the top ZIPs were nearly 59% below pre-pandemic norms, fueling competition and compressing time on market. Yet even in this tight environment, buyers are seeking value rather than just low sticker prices.

“These locations represent a sweet spot for shoppers who want suburban amenities and proximity to jobs without paying top-tier metro premiums,” Hale notes.

Palmyra’s value proposition

Palmyra’s position on the list illustrates how smaller Pennsylvania markets are benefitting from these trends. Its homes are priced below the national median of $440,000 in June 2025, yet they are selling much faster than the U.S. norm. That combination—affordable price points, quick-moving inventory, and regional accessibility—cements Palmyra’s appeal for buyers in 2025.

Looking ahead, markets like Palmyra show that the hottest housing destinations aren’t just big-city suburbs or coastal enclaves. Value-driven communities with strong livability and easy metro access are where demand is heading, and Palmyra fits that formula perfectly.
